Happy Hallowe'en

A fairy princess, fighter pilot and duck.
Owen was not impressed with the costume at first.

Yes, there are not a lot of pictures of Anthony. He took off RUNNING!! And would only wait when we reminded him that we could only go as fast as the slowest person!
They had fun.

Caramel Goodness

It's become a tradition in our house, the making of caramel apples. I started it with Anthony the first year we lived here, it was something to do while his baby sister slept.

And now, well, now it seems to have taken on a life of its own.

I love it, the kids love it and we love sharing the extras with our friends (because really, 14 caramel apples are a little much!)

A Break in the Clouds

Yesterday, although it dawned grey and cold, the sun did eventually decide to peek through the clouds. It was then I figured that despite the wetness of the leaves, the kids need to GET.OUTSIDE. (They were mildy high strung)

So I raked and they did what kids do best. . .

Owen was't too sure...

I LOVE this one!
(If only MY kids would pose like 'C'!)

Crib Mattresses. . .

... Not just for sleeping any more!

Why are the jumping on a crib mattress?? Well, because our crib frame broke beyond repair so we had a mattress laying around!

Did I mention I am very thankful for playpens?!?!?!?
Oh yeah, and Owen? He likes to colour on freshly painted walls, yup, that's my boy! Ah well, thankfully I still had paint left over when the magic eraser didn't take it all off!!

Pumpkin Fun

We're getting ready! My kids love Hallowe'en, they love the carving of the pumpkins (once they get past the fact they need to get dirty), the roasting of the seeds, the making of candy apples and the dressing up.

The finished products!

Lovin' It

What am I loving?
God.
I am falling more and more and more in love and WOW!!
I am loving how He works, Who He is (I AM), and what He is doing (continually) in my life.
I am resting in Him and filled to overflowing.
Doesn't mean that things are perfect (just ask my kids.....today was not my finest mothering day)
But it DOES mean that there is Joy and Peace and Awe-inspiring Wonder.
I can't explain, can't define. Just in love and wanting more (and more and more) and praying for it. (Not only for in my life, but in the lives of friends and family)
I just want to praise Him and shout for Joy.
This shift, from fog to Light is HUGE and I am soaking up every single drop that I can, I know that the mountains don't last forever, there will be another valley (or two or three or...ten) but right now, I am praising Him who has given me life, and not just life but ABUNDANT life. His Life.
WOW!
Sorry, I think I might be babbling! But I just needed to praise Him, here, on this blog, where I often come to vent.
I love His Authority in my life, His ability to take it all and leave Himself behind.
God, thank you! Thank you for your grace and mercy and joy and the blessings that You pour out in my life, for pulling me out of fog and into Your Light for this joy and peace that I have found in You. Thank you.
Thank you that You ARE enough for me.

A Pumpkin and Peace filled Perfect Day

*This post might have a *few* pictures! (don't say you weren't warned!) Yesterday, I took the kids out to Gammondale Farm to their annual Pumpkinfest. We had SO much fun. It was a wonderful 4 hours and it was fun that this worn-out, tired momma very much needed. I was filled with peace that whole time and the kids just ran around being kids. Because we were there almost as soon as it opened, it wasn't really busy so Anthony was allowed to roam (as long as he stayed at one of the four activities that were in the main part of the field.) He was so excited! I love that I can give him freedom like that.

Pulling the rope to let the catapult fly.
Waiting to launch the pumpkin at the scarecrow in the field!

One sleepy boy (and heavy pumpkin!)

Watching the catapult
One of the only smiles (he was very very tired)
